I rode my bicycle across the U.C. Berkeley campus today. On a “normal” Thursday morning, whatever that means, it would be a crowded, convivial place. Now it is mostly deserted, gone to the dogs, so to speak (as plenty of them ran and rambled happily all over it).
The south entrance to campus at Telegraph Avenue.
A lone dog walker in Sproul Plaza.
Dwinelle Hall and Plaza.
Campus has “gone to the dogs.” Here one frolics in front of the empty University Library.
Le Conte Hall, where some of the world’s greatest physicists have worked.
After this crisis, will universities rethink their investment in bricks and mortar? I hope not.
Wheeler Hall on the right, home to the university’s English Department.
The Chancellor is out, but beautiful flowers are blooming outside her offices.
Spring concerts in the Music Department all cancelled.
Wurster Hall.
The Law School.
Thanks for sharing the empty campus.
