Friday we found a leathery, mummified turtle shell in an Adams Point garden. Long exposure to the elements had dried everything perfectly; the bones rattled inside like a maraca. Not every bone was there — a couple had fallen or been scavenged out a small hole in the leathery skin covering the ends. But we got quite a haul, including one scapula, the pelvis and sacrum, and several limb bones.

The dog thinks this is his Easter surprise!
