Bees & bat ray!

After an ugly urban event like last night’s homeless camp fire, it was a pleasure to circumambulate lovely Lake Merritt this morning and remind myself of the small consolations of nature that abound even here in Oakland.

A big bat ray on the west side of the lake.
Bumble bee visiting lupines.
